Tea Time Bakes

At Tea Time Bakes, Susan Davis sells home-baked, highly-decorated bundt cake slices, medium-sized bundts, various English scones, and giant, flavored meringues — everything that would go well with a nice cup of tea.

If you were wondering, yes, the glitter and rice-paper butterflies are all edible! 🦋

Susan started her business about a year ago. After the Actors and Writers' Union Strike in 2023, her 26-year profession in the film industry Costume Department and 12-year job as the Department Supervisor dramatically slowed down. Hollywood North simply did not return to its former glory. After waiting and hoping for a film contract, she finally decided she needed to take back control of her working life and simply fell into baking for markets. She started slowly in the summer of 2024 with 1 market a week, but quickly found that she could add more markets to her schedule, especially during the Christmas period. She now does 3 markets a week, every week — that's a lot of baking! She is one of our most dedicated vendors, and her market menu is constantly evolving.

She loves market days, interacting with fellow market vendors and the customers — she has quite a loyal customer base! She can now work on her schedule, at her own pace, and for bonus points, she can even bake in her PJ's. All to say, she loves her new life!

Staying true to her five-year plan, next year, she hopes to set up a website and expand her business. Keep an eye out! 🎂
