With a bike full of rope and a dog named Billy, Dave Thomson first came to our market to asking to run a booth for Richmond Centre for Disability, a community organization that aims to help people with disabilities, through hosting skills-training classes, organizing peer support groups, arranging recreational activities, and more! Kwantlen Farmers' Market was blessed to have Dave provide information on mindfulness, wellness, and community resources. He also had activities to destress while listening to ambient music or our live musicians — like meditative drawing, or petting Billy :)
After a few weeks, he decided to showcase what his bike was decorated with — one of his personal ways of creative destressing — custom ropework!
At his business Knot Just A Leash, Dave sells key chains, lanyards, plant hangers, and of course, for his fellow pet-lovers, leashes. He also tried his hand at abstract rope-and-paint artwork!
He's a really in-person kinda guy. No social media. You gotta catch him face-to-face at our market. Or try emailing him: dthomson.thomson@gmail.com.
